PEP Retreat Report:
All Elementary Principal's and Assistants (except Hoban) have an overview of the The World is Flat and they saw many examples of how WEB 2.0 is much different. We now have a BLS wiki(Krause & Hedman), Pope Blog(Williams), Unicycle Blog(Crawford), Liefsen Land(Leifson), Mool Family(Mool), Woodland Blog(Keller)...All elementary principals got a very quick intro (awareness level) of SWIFT in their building through Intel. The all have their voice mail set up and can take and send messages and pictures using SMS & MMS. They had a brief introduction to Documents To Go and we even sent and received documents using Blue Tooth. I offered an open lab for all things Treo or Laptops from 9:00pm - Midnight on both Thursday & Friday night; many chose that option for learning more in an informal setting. It was a fantastic success!...but we still have much to do! Right now we are at the awareness level with most and soon we must move to the NETS A.

Whiplash!
This site reminds me of the first time I tried to explain my personal discovery of the Web 2.o & The semantic web to you in August. I remember the looks on your faces as I rambled on with excitement about things that took me a couple months to internalize and wrap my brain around. Darren Kuropatwa does a much better job of introducing educators to Web 2.o with his Whiplash Wiki using the PB Wiki. Check it out!

Shifted Learning
John Pederson @ pedersondesign has put together this online EduBlogger Conference called Shifted Learning during the month of May... I'll be following this work, you may want to also.

Quote of the Week:
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought
without accepting it.
